The Unplaceables

The Unplaceables is a roadmovie through the slums of the soul, directed by René Hazekamp. It premiered, and was in competition, at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) 2012 and has been selected for Semaine de la critique at the Locarno International Film Festival 2013.

Synopsis

The Unplaceables is a feature length documentary about the need for imagination in order to live a fully human life. It focuses on a group of (ex)-addicts, their work and their attempts to gain control over their lives. The documentary shows how the world looks from their perspective, what gives them hope, the strategies they develop to survive and how their world reflects ours.
